Description & Requirements

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant to join our ANZ Financial Controlling team. You will be working with our local and global finance teams on Financial reporting and analysis. Tasks include:

  • Preparation- review and analysis of monthly actual financials- which may include (but not limit to) sales analysis- margin mix analysis- balance sheet accuracy etc.
  • In-depth analysis of P&L lines and accounts- validation of the correct GL string and cost centers and liaising with functional team to understand variances and initiatives.
  • Fixed assets reporting which includes processing capital transactions (additions- disposals- depreciation- etc)- preparing- reviewing and analysing movements in the accounts.
  • Tax reporting which include processing tax returns- FBT returns and BAS returns- preparing- reviewing and analysing movements in the accounts
  • Timely preparation- review and submission of local- statutory- legal and internal management monthly reporting packages to WHQ
  • Respond to the Bureau of Statistics data requirements
  • Ad hoc assignment as required
  • Manage operational transaction processing for General Ledger (GL) across the ANZ business units; ensure integrity of GL transactions processing
  • Completion of month-end processes and production of key internal financial statements including profit & loss- balance sheet and cash flow

About you

  • Undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • Qualified accountant (e.g.- CPA- CIA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in the accounting areas
  • Exposure to working in a large corporate or professional accounting environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the appropriate levels of management in both oral and written form.  Communication style is clear- precise and logical
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel- Word- and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and principles
  • Major ERP system exposure such BPCS/SAP
