About the Position                           

We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced R&D Process Technologist to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. You’ll be working in a high performing team- alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You’ll be reporting into the R&D Process Implementation Manager. Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal senior stakeholders. The delivery of NPD (New Product Development)- VE (Value Engineering) and SC (Supply Chain) projects will be your primary responsibility. You’re constantly looking for improvement activities within the European/Global Business.

In brief- you will be part of the International R&D Process implementation team- taking a role as process technologist in the Kraft Heinz Innovation Centre in Nijmegen. You will be responsible for:

  • The delivery of NPD projects in the Kraft Heinz International Business- fully compliant with routines- processes- WoW and Kraft Heinz methodologies.

  • The delivery of Value Engineering projects in the Kraft Heinz International Business- fully compliant with routines- processes- WoW and Kraft Heinz methodologies

  • Support the R&D Team on Technology Platforms and Programs for unlocking Innovation

  • The support to SC projects in the Kraft Heinz International Business- fully compliant with routines- processes- WoW and Kraft Heinz methodologies.

  • Support in creating & updating the following documents:

    • PTR (Project Team Requirements- URS)

    • PFD (Process Flow Diagram)

    • Process Specification (BOD)

    • Process sheets

  • Identifying new technologies and equipment for future implementation in the International Kraft Heinz factories- looking for Improved process sustainability:

    • Energy- GHG & Water Reduction
    • Yield Improvement
    • Efficiency Improvement

You’ll be based in Nijmegen being part of the International R&D team. Under normal circumstances- the job could include travelling to the sites and working abroad.


Hard Skills

  • Education: Master Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering- or Process Food Technology

  • Work Experience: 5 years as process Engineer/Technologist in a food company

  • Knowledge:

    • Functional understanding of platform technology including: foundational science- ingredient functionality- formulation- product/process interaction- nutrition/regulatory considerations- food safety/microbiology requirements- analytical testing methods.

    • Hygienic Design- Thermal validation- Cleaning validation- CIP optimization- HACCP.

    • Retorting- Mixing & Dosing- Cooking- Filling Technology- Homogenization- New preservation Techniques- Emulsification- Pump and Fluid Transport- Heat transfer calculations.

  • Language Knowledge: Fluent in English
