Position Summary

The National Account Manager Role is…

  • Is uniquely positioned for an ambitious sales leader who is craving full ownership and accountability for our products and customers within the assigned accounts in the region.
  • We are searching for a candidate who shows a high level of ownership for their business and is adept at selling solutions and with a proven ability to win new business.
  • We are seeking a candidate who is eager to be a leader- influencer and activator with internal and external key stakeholders from the first day on the job.
  • This role reports to the Lead- Sales – East Manager for Kraft Heinz Ingredients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare- present and own the sales planning process for assigned region.
  • Build profitable sales in the assigned territory through additional sales with current customers and demonstrate commitment to prospecting and new business development.
  • Employ a consultative sales approach that focuses on building long term- strategic relationships with account’s key decision makers- penetrating their business further.
  • Enhance Kraft Heinz Ingredients position within the top tiered accounts using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels within the account that result in increased sales and margin growth.
  • Prospect for new business; conduct sales calls and actively grow the size of your territory.
  • Maintain a clear updated view of your sales pipeline; actively build sales opportunity pipeline to exceed targets and drive opportunities from initial identification and qualification to sales fruition and closure.
  • Actively communicate progress of projects and changes in demand to internal stakeholders.
  • Build effective proposals- based on customer needs- consumer insights and the customer's decision criteria.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree required. 
  • Experience and expertise in technical sales or business development in Food Ingredients required- R&D experience is a benefit.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience required with a consistent track record for attaining new customers- increasing penetration with existing customers- and growing sales profitably.
  • Strong analytical skills- problem solving- critical thinking- organization and planning.
  • Strong business acumen and intuition demonstrated by discernment that not every sales opportunity is equal.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal- written- presentation) demonstrated by effective presentations- influence- and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com
  • Home-based role- Central- (OH- MI- IN preferred)- travel is required (approximately 50%)

Domain Expertise

  • 5+ years of working experience with national and regional ingredient customers
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • CRM platform experience such as Salesforce.com
