Description & Requirements

Role:

The Procurement Finance lead will provide essential financial support to the US based Procurement team.  The position will serve as the voice of finance in the decision-making process as it relates to quarterly/annual reviews- monthly close process (including analysis and reporting). The position is key to drive behavior in Procurement to pursue strategic pricing and better negotiations and will focus on Direct Procurement (Ingredients and Packaging). In addition- the position interacts with the Operations group to support productivity efforts. This role manages a team of 3 in the Chicago office.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the automation of all Procurement Finance Reports to produce process improvement for the team
  • Create financial models- implementing supporting tools- gathering market data to analyze trends and benchmarks
  • Control US Direct Procurement Operational cost (4.5B USD)
  • Streamlines processes – reduce “touches” of data
  • Responsible for managing all Procurement Footprint activities to generate savings
  • Simplify and roll out global best practices for procurement finance
  • Establish and maintain advanced analytics that enable deeper understanding and insight into procurement performance
    • Providing input to the development of long-range financial forecasts and related budgets- considering alternative scenarios and economic prospects as appropriate
  • Partnering with functional teams to integrate budgets and forecasts into business review
    • Driving forecast accuracy improvement process leveraging available data. 
  • Proposing improvements to systems and methods of work and analysis- and contributing to ensuring that they are continuously adapted to business requirements
  • Supervise the annual budget process and monthly forecast process
  • Leading analytical projects to identify potential savings- partners with package owners to deliver savings for the U.S. procurement teams
  • Interact with Risk Management on market trends and hedging strategies
  • Support ad hoc requests and quantifying financials that results in a clear message for leadership and buyers
  • Monitor contractual events (rebates- obligations- penalties) and hold clear- open lines of communication with Controllership team to ensure proper accounting 
  • Lead the SOX controls and run biannual price fluctuation analysis
     

Qualifications:

  • BS in Finance- Accounting or Business Administration required
  • 6+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting- FP&A role and evidence of analytical mindset preferred
  • Highly developed excel and systems expertise- SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Conversant in data manipulation tools and language
  • Strong business acumen- interpersonal- communication and negotiation skills
  • Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management- in most cases without authority
  • Exhibits strong analytical- written and verbal communication skills
