The Kraft Heinz Company is seeking a Global Head of Nutrition with the ability to support cross-functional global business teams on strategic nutrition and wellbeing opportunities for business development through guidance on nutrition trends and opportunities- and through delivery of nutrition science insights and translation. This candidate will also be responsible for leading and engaging in nutrition communications across global zones; leading- monitoring and advising on corporate ESG nutrition commitments; external affairs; and interpretation of regulations- policies and dietary guidelines. This candidate will support the nutrition applications and regulatory needs for stakeholders . The person will lead and build a team of nutrition and regulatory experts.

This candidate should have a proven record of influencing others- demonstrating strategic initiative- and driving for results in a variety of settings.  Proven leadership- communication and teamwork skills are essential in this role- which operates in a cross-functional environment. The candidate must have a strong nutrition background- including the interpretation- evaluation and translation of nutrition science.  This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently and demonstrate a high degree of autonomy. Exhibiting a collaborative mindset and applying innovative solutions are a must.  Prior food industry and regulatory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead global nutrition team and work closely with cross functional teams across nutrition science- nutrition applications and regulatory.
  • Lead translating current dietary guidance and nutrition science into evidence-based product and claim opportunities across the Kraft Heinz product portfolio through strong collaboration with business teams- regulatory affairs- and food law. 
  • Lead assessing the business implications of emerging science- external issues- food regulations and public nutrition/health policy through external relationships with academic researchers- science/health organizations and industry/trade groups.
  • Lead driving internal nutrition and wellbeing initiatives through regularly informing and guiding business partners and assessing progress across the product portfolio.
  • Develop and recommend global business strategies related to growth while embracing nutrition possibilities.
  • Support claim review and substantiation through proven ability to objectively review the scientific literature and provide subsequent input to business and global R&D teams. Develop efficient processes for successful implementation.
  • Lead proactive identification of nutrition trends- policy implications and communication opportunities by working cross functionally with internal KHC teams such as Marketing- Consumer Insights- Corporate Affairs- Food Law- Marketing and R&D.
  • Communicate and educate internal stakeholders on the complexity of issues and evolving challenges existing within the company and its external environment- including the nature of current and emerging nutrition science developments
  • Link to other global nutrition partners within KHC to drive a global nutrition strategy and develop company positions and communications- requiring regular interactions with senior staff.

Qualifications:

  • PhD  in Nutrition or related field required with (5-10+) years of experience; registered dietitian a plus
  • An ideal candidate will have experience in Nutrition- Regulatory or R&D with a Global/US food manufacturer
  • Nutrition science education and experience- as well as familiarity with US /Global food regulations preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving- influencing- organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to prioritize work
  • Demonstrated track record on influencing cross functional teams and Senior Leadership Teams
  • Demonstrated track record of working with cross functional teams such as Corporate Affairs- Food Law- CIS- Data Analytics- R&D- Food Quality  
  • Willing to travel 15-20% for external meetings or conferences as indicated
