Job Overview:

Joining the Champaign team is a great way to grow your skills- develop your abilities and delight consumers every day. We are currently seeking energetic and driven individuals to join our team.

Associates will program- troubleshoot- and maintain electronic equipment in a food manufacturing environment- following strict product safety and quality standards. Interested individuals must be able to work in a fast paced- complex environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Use of Allen Bradley and Texas Instruments programmable logic controllers for machine/process control- troubleshooting and modify programs.
  •  Load programs to and from any programmable logic controller.
  •  Design control cabinets using programmable logic controller- temperature controller- encoders- counters and miscellaneous control hardware.
  • Design control circuits using programmable logic controllers- temperature controllers/records- counters and miscellaneous control hardware.
  • Understand the use and operation of process variable sensing elements (RTDs- thermocouples- etc.)- transducers (pressure level- humidity/moisture- pH- Flow Meters- etc.)- photoelectric sensors and similar sensing used in manufacturing environment.
  • Calibrate all forms of electrical- electronic- and pneumatic devices.
  • Participate in the QRMP audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Oversee and lead the implementation of the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.
  • Communicate technical information to improve the skills of the other electricians.
  • Replace and reconfigure personal computer utilized in process applications.
  • Configure all electronic devices (HMI displays- programmable position encoders- etc.).
  • Work in teams with engineering and production.
  •  Tune PID loops.
  • Understand the PID and flow diagrams for various processes.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • Understands basic electronics with a 2 year Associate degree in electronics or 5 years equivalent experience. Basic electronics (transistor logs- digital logic- etc.) competency.
  • Able to work under a fast-paced work environment and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Appropriate time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Able to follow directions and ability to perform tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Exercises good judgment and decision-making skills- bringing up to the supervisor any issues outside of his/her scope of responsibility and control.
  • Able to work flexible schedules when needed.
  • Able to safely work at heights.
