Description & Requirements

About the role:

This role will always help to maintain safe work practices - and to behave in accordance with the Company’s ethical standards. You will manage the shift and improvement technicians- implement Electrical standards and documentation- oversee new electrical projects and interfacing with production & management.  In this role you will positively drive plant improvements and provide technical expertise to the technicians while always upholding the Heinz values and to work in a way that contributes to the Company’s vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup the shift roster- organize cover in case of absence and manage personnel on day by day basis
  • To reduce down-time- to increase efficiency- to extend existing plant life- to save operating cost
  • Identify opportunities and perform tasks to increase plant performance/efficiency or to expand business
  • Provide technical expertise to all electrical personnel- project and process engineers to optimize plant
  • Interface daily with production team leaders to identify potential electrical or scheduling issues and to ensure maximum plant uptime
  • Ensure all electrical equipment and practices meets statuary requirements
  • Maintain / update existing documentation and add new documentation where required
  • Ensure that equipment installed meet- as far as practical- the Heinz Wattie’s electrical standards. Also ensure the all electrical work is of the highest standard and quality
  • Identify new improvement projects- do cost estimate and oversee implementation to meet the objectives as set out in the Capex or project justification document

  • Strong planning and organisational ability
  • Communication skills- including being able to give and follow instructions
  • Skilled in evaluating the performance of staff and processes
