Description & Requirements

Director- Finance - Category
The Director of Category Finance serves as the voice of finance across all commercial processes- including- but not limited to- business performance reviews- monthly close process (including analysis and reporting)- oversight of commercialization initiatives- development of the strategic plan- and translation of commodity pricing into the P&L.  The position interfaces daily with all members of the category team to understand business results and ensure delivery of financial commitments.  In addition- the position interacts with the Operations group to support productivity efforts and works with Procurement to align on strategic pricing and risk management strategies.

 Key Responsibilities include:

  • Partners with Marketing to develop and simulate the P&L based on performance- commercialization- and pricing
  • Leads the AOP and partners with Marketing to analyze and deliver results in MPR
  • Leads collaboration with the Commodity Procurement Finance team to understand the commodity performance and ensure proper translation of pricing into the P&L
  • Oversees a team of resources who conduct P&L financial analysis and cost modeling at the individual category level
  • Co-leads development and implementation of the pricing strategy based on competitive prices and commodities
  • Develops accurate financial plans and forecasts- ensures thorough understanding of opportunities- risks- and rewards- and influences the business to drive profitable growth
  • Coaches and develops direct reports to own category-specific finance processes- targets- and deliverables 

*Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Finance- Accounting or Business Administration required. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Outstanding business acumen- interpersonal- communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional team members
  • Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Possesses the ability to lead teams and effectively work through others
  • Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management- in some cases without authority
  • Excellent analytical- written- and verbal communication skills
