Description & Requirements

We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Data Engineering professional to make a difference at Kraft Heinz in an exciting new role – Data Transformation Lead- International (EMEA- LATAM- APAC). The position sits within the International IT Analytics and Growth function. You’ll be working in a high performing team- alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal and external senior stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be implementing the data engineering strategy to cover the EMEA/IHQ Business Units (BUs). This is a role that combines both strategic leadership whilst still balancing the day to day needs of the BUs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage data ingestion projects within the Kraft Heinz architecture
  • Identify- design- and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes- optimizing data delivery- re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability- etc.
  • Running projects to help us improve and drive the consolidation of financial reporting across the International zone. This includes influencing CFOs and driving the adoption of best practices and tools
  • Ensuring the stable running and adoption of the live services that are running now to ensure financial reporting is consolidated and reported in a timely fashion with excellence. This includes critical consolidation and reporting for the entire International zone
  • Ensuring that the EPOS data pipelines are running well and that the project to move vendors is well managed and communicated
  • Drive the continuous improvement and automation of data and ensure that we stay linked to the way in which users are visualizing the data in Tableau to ensure we enable them to access the data
  • Partnering with Global IT Data Engineering to ensure that our move to the Cloud is coordinated and executed well
  • Work with stakeholders including the IT Service Delivery and GBS organization to assist with data-related technical issues and support live data needs.
  • Working with a technical 3rd party to build and deliver. The role is hands on- but there is a well-established partner in the space who provides technical manpower
  • Contribute to the creation of analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition- operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Evolution of the Finance toolkit to help standardize processes in the BUs across the International zone


  • 5+ years of rapid career advancement in a data or analytics delivery role
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases- query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Snowflake/SAP HANA).
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines- architectures and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation- data structures- metadata- dependency and workload management.
  • Project management skills and the ability to lead 3rd party vendors to deliver
  • A successful history of manipulating- processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing- stream processing- and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
  • Experience using the following software/tools:
    • Big data tools: Hadoop- Spark- Kafka- etc.
    • Relational SQL and NoSQL databases- including Postgres and Cassandra.
    • Data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban- Luigi- Airflow- etc.
    • Stream-processing systems: Storm- Spark-Streaming- etc.
    • Object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python- Java- C++- Scala- etc.
    • Text processing scripting languages: Sed and AWK
    • REST API Pipelines for data extraction
    • DevOps tools: Jenkins- Git- Maven- SBT- etc.
