Description & Requirements

As an Associate Customer Category Manager- you are a critical driver in the management of all selling and executional activities to achieve customer revenue and profit targets. You have the talent- drive and understanding of the retail sales environment to generate sales volumes. Your ability to discover and capitalize on account opportunities is unparalleled.  As a member of one of the strongest sales forces in Canada- you will form the crucial link between Kraft Heinz customer team and the customer- dedicating your results-oriented mindset to the type of proactive- business-building initiatives that have been the cornerstone of our success at Kraft Heinz Canada.

You will report directly to a Customer Business Lead- and work collaboratively to develop partnerships with the Customer business teams and the customers. The Associate Customer Category Manager will be the liaison between the Customer Business team and customer on all business development opportunities and challenges.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Utilization of the category management process via Nielsen to drive consumer/shopper insights that translates into customer opportunities that would mutually benefit Kraft Heinz and our customers.
  • Support the customer business team in the evaluation of promotional ROI and drive out the programs that deliver the highest efficiency for both Kraft Heinz and our customer. Leverage our trade ROI tool to identify highest ROI selling opportunities which will Satisfies customer needs and strives to deliver revenue- and share.
  • To be the key liaison between our field selling team and the customer team to communicate selling priorities for upcoming promotions.
  • Be the customer business team expert on consumption trends- retail pricing- competitive landscape- innovation performance and distribution white space to support the Customer team in the evaluation of business performance
  • Leverages consumption expertise to help support the customer team in the development of their demand driven forecasts
  • Manage & grow current Food Service accounts- primarily BC based Universities and chains
  • Manage & grow current OCS coffee accounts nationally
  • Pursue new business opportunities in FS and Retail channels
  • Assist in EB expansion and integration into the US market- plan trade shows & other events
  • Work alongside FST and Shopper Marketing teams to grow EB sales in all channels
  • Develop new sales opportunities for Ethical Bean


  • A University degree is required- preferably in Business
  • Progressive experience of at least 2 years in Sales- which should include Sales Representative roles and Account Management
  • Experience with sales where fact-based selling and category reviews are leveraged
  • Experience using sales reporting systems and AC Nielson systems
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Understanding of financials including trade spending and profit and loss statements
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate with customer
  • Valid drivers license
