Role Overview:

The Culinary Chef Assistant will report to Kraft Heinz Corporate Chef.  The role will assist in developing “on trend” menu concepts and recipes- incorporating Kraft Heinz products for Foodservice customers. The position requires contact with multiple internal roles and departments.


The incumbent must work closely with National / Regional / RMS Account Sales- R&D- Foodservice Marketing and Culinary Insights.  The role will consider customer LTO trends and calendar preferences as well as ingredient trends- innovation and new packaging opportunities to assist in developing menu and product innovation


Creative expertise is important in this position – the ability to spot opportunities- and to visualize what is needed in short and long term for customer food calendar.  The basic research must be innovative and farsighted- predicting long-range Foodservice marketplace macro trends to satisfy the evolving needs of the market


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating recipes and menu concepts based on market menu insights and operator brand requirements
  • Cultivate relationships with culinary peers
  • Supports the development of product concepts and prototypes and provide feedback to R&D
  • Manage food requirements at Foodshows & customer events to represent and showcase the Kraft Heinz capabilities and solutions. (food prep and demonstration)
  • Works with Corporate Chef and Foodservice Sales- Marketing & R&D teams to help define customer and product development objectives
  • Assists in selling ideas and influence solutions with a variety of organizational functions
  • Interact with cross-functional personnel to assure a timely completion of projects.
  • Develop well-written and customer-driven menu ideas and package directions using established formats and styles.
  • Involvement and collaboration with the execution of internal and external event functions
     

Knowledge- Experience- and Competencies

  •  Familiarity with food production processes- quality procedures and recipes for Foodservice
  • 5+ years in an Executive Chef Role at restaurant level and/or A Certified Executive Chef’s Degree or a Bachelors Degree in Food Science
  • Experience in chain account kitchen and/or culinary product development an asset
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills- project planning- data analysis- and computer literate.
  • Excellent listening skills coupled with a strong passion for problem solving through culinary creations.
